“High Risk Pregnancy”
Rosanne's Perspective
High risk is not a number and often reflects what makes your doctor uncomfortable rather than actual statistical danger
Dr. Fischbein explains that VBAC has a 1 in 1200 risk of serious complications (same as Down syndrome at age 25) yet is labeled high risk, while a healthy 40-year-old man's heart disease risk of 1 in 100 is considered low risk.

Dr. Stuart Fischbein explains that the American College of OB GYN considers pregnancy itself a high risk condition, and no single woman makes it through pregnancy without at least one problem on their medical list.
