Before

Controlling everything, miserable, disconnected from family, shame about wanting third child

Key Shift

Released control, built trust in herself and faith, challenged limiting beliefs about being too old and selfish

After

Relaxed, trusting intuition, present with family, confident in decisions based on values

Natalia's Initial Struggle: Two Years of Control and Fear

Natalia already had two daughters but knew her family wasn't complete. Despite PCOS and hypothyroidism making conception difficult before, she spent two years trying for a third child while battling shame about wanting 'too much.' Her fear manifested as obsessive control over diet, timing, and lifestyle, making life miserable and disconnecting her from her current family.

Finding Community and Structure Through Group Coaching

Initially wanting individual coaching, Natalia discovered the power of community through the 8-week Fearlessly Fertile Method program. Surrounded by like-minded women, she felt heard and supported while challenging limiting beliefs about being too old and selfish for wanting another child at 44.

The Conception Story: Surrendering Perfect Timing

During her cycle with two large follicles, Natalia's planned romantic evening was interrupted by neighbors. Instead of freaking out as she would have before, she relaxed, had a beer, and released control over perfect timing. She conceived naturally that night after embracing the lesson that it doesn't have to be 'her way or the highway.'

Beyond Pregnancy: Learning to Receive and Be Present

After her baby boy arrived, Natalia faced postpartum physical challenges that forced her to confront her productivity-based self-worth. Through accepting help from her husband and learning to 'just be' instead of constantly doing, she became more present with her children and discovered the strength in vulnerability.

Questions This Episode Answers

Can you get pregnant naturally at 44 with PCOS and thyroid issues?

I always knew from the very beginning that my dream would be to be a family of five and have three kids, and I always knew I wanted that. The only thing and the only difference was that I was now getting older. I was already fourteen, and I was telling myself in my head, I'm too old.

Natalia6:21

Yes, Natalia conceived naturally at 44 despite having PCOS and hypothyroidism. After struggling for 2 years, she used mindset work to release control and trust her body, conceiving during week 8 of the Fearlessly Fertile Method program.

How do you overcome shame about wanting another baby when you already have children?

You can be completely grateful for what you want and desire more. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Right? And most people are too small minded to look at it in that way.

Rosanne Austin2:35

Recognize that you can be completely grateful for what you have and still desire more—these aren't mutually exclusive. Challenge the stories telling you you're being selfish or asking for too much, and focus on what will make your family complete.

What happens when you try to control everything during fertility treatment?

I think the control came from my fear. I was so afraid of not getting pregnant that the way to tackle that was to be extremely controlling over everything, everything I ate, everything I did. It was all based on this control control about everything, and it became an obsession.

Natalia7:22

Control comes from fear and makes life miserable. When you're controlling everything you eat, do, and plan around fertility, it becomes an obsession that disconnects you from enjoying your current life and family.

Is group coaching effective for personal fertility issues?

After years of doing this, what do I know women need? Structure, consistency, and community. For anything to be sustainable and for us to truly integrate the lessons that are gonna help us change our lives, you need those things.

Rosanne Austin13:09

Yes, group coaching provides structure, consistency, and community that creates sustainable change. Women connect with similar stories, feel supported, and build confidence together rather than staying isolated in shame.

How do you know when to choose natural conception over IVF?

I also became more discerning. I I made decisions that were based on my values. Not based on what a doctor said, based on my values. I knew I wanted to have my third baby naturally.

Natalia15:22

Make decisions based on your values, not what doctors say. Trust your intuition—if you have a strong sense your baby is coming naturally, honor that feeling even if medical recommendations suggest otherwise.

What should you do if fertility timing doesn't work out perfectly?

It doesn't have to be my way or the highway right now, right here in this moment. And I started to relax. I started to to enjoy the evening. I I actually had a beer, something that I had prohibited myself forever.

Natalia16:54

Release the belief that it has to be 'your way or the highway' in one specific moment. If timing doesn't work out one cycle, you have many other opportunities throughout the year. Relaxing often leads to better outcomes.

How to Challenge Limiting Stories About Your Fertility Journey

Natalia's process for identifying and overcoming beliefs that were blocking her path to motherhood

  1. 1

    Be curious about your stories

Question the stories you tell yourself about being too old, too selfish, or asking for too much

  2. 2

    Trace their origins

Look at where these stories come from—often they're ingrained from childhood or societal messaging

  3. 3

    Dissect the driving forces

Understand what's behind these beliefs and why you've held onto them

  4. 4

    Challenge with evidence

Look for proof that contradicts these limiting beliefs and examples of women who've succeeded despite similar circumstances
